How does the laser work on these blemishes?
The Diode Laser system treats the full range of benign pigmented lesions including freckles, age spots (lentigos), sun spots (solar lentigos), cafe au lait macules (birthmarks), seborrheic keratoses, and hyperpigmentation (mask of pregnancy or hormonal changes with birth control pills). The laser safely eliminates these spots without surgery, daily use of expensive creams and other painful procedures. The laser targets the pigment in these spots and breaks them apart, dispersing them and eliminating the unsightly blemish often in just one treatment.
Who are Candidates for Treatment?
Most people, including children, may be treated; however, your clinician should determine if your condition is suitable for this treatment. A consultation may be required to determine your suitability to laser blemish therapy.
What is the treatment like?
Treatment involves a pulse of intense light, similar to the flash of a camera. You may feel a mild sting or pinch similar to the snap of a rubber band. The treatment generally takes a matter of minutes to treat a small lesion.

Are there side effects?
Often the skin blemish appears darker immediately following the procedure. You may experience local swelling or redness of the skin that will resolve in a few hours to within a few days. In rare instances, some blistering can occur.
How many treatments are required?
Freckles, age spots, and sunspots often clear after just one treatment. Other blemishes may take two to three treatments.

Healthier looking skin!
Most patients are quite happy with the difference laser blemish therapy makes. Your skin will appear younger, clearer and more healthy-looking. Although laser blemish therapy will obliterate the unsightly blemish for good, it's important to remember that repeated sun exposure will not prevent new sunspots from emerging in the future. Enjoy your new blemish-free body!
