Brighten Dull Skin
Lasting SkinSolutions® brightens dull, lifeless skin with Laser and Chemical peels to repair and smooth the skin with little to no recovery time. The benefits of these treatments are that they exfoliate and remove dead skin cells, revealing healthy fresh skin beneath as well as with repeated treatments you can achieve smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles as well as reduce superficial age spots.
The laser peel called the “MicroLaser Peel” has the added benefit of the superficial heat produced by the laser stimulates collagen renewal, which in turn promotes wrinkle reduction.
Once you have repaired the rejuvenated the skin it is important to keep the skin healthy. Surface skin repair treatments including chemical peels and microdermabrasion and a good skin care routine are essential to maintaining the health of the skin.
Laser Peels and Resurfacing
Depending on the depth of the “laser peel”, the down time and results can be adjusted. A superficial laser peel is a precise and calculated exfoliation of the skin. The results of a laser peel can be more even because the skins’ natural oils do not reduce the effects of the peel, as seen in a chemical peel.
The benefit of a peel of the skin is that the lighter colored sunspot can be more effectively removed as opposed to the Intense Pulsed Light treatment relying on the darker colored sunspots to absorb the light thereby allowing their removal.
Laser Resurfacing allows the clinician to choose the optimal depth of treatment to achieve the desired effects. With the state of the art technology in the Sciton laser, Lasting SkinSolutions® can obtain the results you desire.
Fractional Laser Treatments
The fractionated lasers are used in a way to ‘punch holes” much like Swiss cheese. This is done to allow a deeper treatment to the pigment without greatly increasing the downtime. However, the downtime is slightly longer than when Intense Pulse Light is used alone. Ask your clinician to give you an estimate of the downtime with this procedure.
Lasting SkinSolutions® offers this cutting edge (without the cutting!) laser treatment, which treats sun damage, smoothes lines and wrinkles, and takes years off your appearance by rejuvenating and resurfacing the skin from the inside out. Fraxel® and Sciton’s Profractional lasers are one of the important high tech weapons in Lasting SkinSolutions® arsenal for effectively fighting aging without going under the knife.
Fraxel® is a pioneer in the field of laser technology. What Artefill® did for dermal fillers, Fraxel® has done for laser skin treatments. Fraxel® brings back the glow of vibrant, youthful skin without the uncomfortable, and sometimes painful recovery or downtime traditionally associated with old school resurfacing laser treatments or skin peels.
Fraxel® is unlike anything that has come before. Instead of treating the entire surface area of the skin, Fraxel® creates small laser pinpoints along the skin’s surface much like “aerating the lawn” to allow greater depth of repair to the superficial layer of the skin. The treatment points stimulate the body to renew itself, while the surrounding untreated areas aid in rapid healing.

Frequently asked questions about Fraxel®
What conditions are best treated with Fraxel®?
Fraxel® treatments improve the overall health of the superficial layer of your skin, therefore, it is often recommended for aging skin, tightening pores, improving textural abnormalities, acne scar softening, and pigmentation problems such as Melasma.
How many treatments are needed?
Depending on the condition of the skin, optimal results can be achieved in as little as one to three treatments.
Is it painful?
The procedure is often described as a sunburn-like sensation. This is eased with a cooling apparatus, which forces cold air at the treated skin. Occasionally a topical anesthetic can be used prior to the treatment for added comfort. For most, there is no need for pain medicine during or after the treatment.
Is there downtime?
Most people compare it to having a mild to moderate sunburn depending on the depth needed for repair. The sensation can last 30-60 minutes for a mild treatment and up to 24 hours for a moderate treatment depth or for someone who has sensitive skin. The following day you will experience a mild to moderate flushing of the face. You may also see mild swelling that resolves in 24-48 hours. The treatment area may appear bronzed or tan for a day or two followed by mild peeling. This is a sign of healing and repairing.
While individual results will vary, most patients can return to work within a few days, and makeup can be worn the following day.
What results should I expect to see?
Skin is smoother, firmer and brighter. Wrinkles are smoothed and diminished. Skin color is more uniform and age spots or sun damage disappears or drastically fades.
When will I see results?
While some patients may see a result in as little as a week, the majority of patients will see results gradually appear over the course of a month.
How safe is the Fraxel® laser?
Fraxel® laser treatment is very safe. Because it is non-abrasive and requires no incisions, or removal of skin layers, there is very little risk for infection. Fraxel® penetrates the skin’s surface, causing the work to be done underneath the top layers of the skin.
Do I need special preparation?
There is no special preparation for Fraxel® Laser Treatments. It is recommended that you avoid harsh products such as Retin-A or Retinols for at least 1 week prior to treatment.
Is Fraxel® Laser Treatment for everyone?
Fraxel® Laser Treatment has been approved for all people on all skin types. It is safe to be used anywhere on the body and the treatment can be even be done on delicate areas such as the skin around the eyes, neck or on the chest.
How long will the effects last?
Fraxel® Laser Treatment can help to turn back the clock but it doesn’t stop the aging process. Treatments are long lasting, but you still need to take good care of your skin, drinking plenty of water, eating healthy, minimizing stress and avoiding sun exposure. All of these steps will help you keep your youthful appearance longer.
Can this be combined with other treatments?
Yes. We believe it is an excellent addition to many other laser treatments and is an important component in Lasting SkinSolutions® revolutionary Non-Surgical Face Lift, the patented “AirBrush FaceLift®.”
